THURSDAY, APRIL 17, 4 PM-8 PM

Ants on a Log Cafe (401 SW Jefferson Ave) Open 4-6 pm showcases two artists this month – Rhiannon Fritschle and Rae Nelson! Rhiannon hand-makes relief prints inspired by the natural (and supernatural!) world, and Rae is a painter who loves bringing contemplation and joy to people through their art. Come support these local artists and enjoy healthy, organic, and gluten-free food and drinks at the cafe! There will also be a painting station set up where anyone can come make their own painting on a small canvas!

Art in the Valley (209 SW 2nd Street) features Norma Eaton: “Not Out of the Woods Yet.” Norma Eaton is a landscape artist who works in “painted paper collage.” She paints her own papers to use in her collage landscapes. Born in North Dakota and raised in Oregon, Norma has a love of mountains, waterfalls, and trees. “Not Out of the Woods Yet” will feature scenes from all parts of Oregon - from Eastern Oregon to the coast. Got a skier in your family? See Mt Hood Meadows as it appears in the summer. If you love the woods, you won’t want to miss this show.

The Arts Center Corrine Woodman Gallery (700 SW Madison Ave), Open 4-7 pm presents Ann Chadwick Reid’s exhibition Habitat. It features cut paper artwork as fragile as the environment. The work addresses the impact of human activities on whole ecosystems, specifically the Garry Oak ecosystem.

The Arts Center Main Gallery (700 SW Madison Ave) Open 4-7pm presents Poetry Night at TAC. In honor of National Poetry Month, TAC hosts an evening of spoken word. Join us in the Main Gallery for scheduled performers and open mic. Free food and drinks provided.

Corvallis Museum (411 SW Second) features the Corvallis Abstract Group: Spring 2025 Exhibition. The group will host an artist’s reception from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, including a short talk and introduction of the artists at 6:00 PM. An acrylic pour will be demonstrated by one of the artists, and attendees will have the opportunity to participate in creating an abstract painting. The show features current works by Mary Brutsaert, Grant Cunningham, David Goodrum, David Gorick, Tricia Greaves, William Gilmer, Julie Risien and Patricia Thomas. Additionally, there is a special showing of legacy works by Paul J. Gunn, Alan Monroe, John Rock, and Bill Shumway.

CRV Science (425 SW Madison Ave Suite H3) hosts the CRV Science and Art Clothing Booth with prints, t-shirts, laser-etched art, and now 3-d printed art and trinkets.

Living Studios Gallery at Cornerstone Associates (1445 SE Crystal Lake Dr #101) presents the Living Studios Staff Show. Artists at Living Studios are supported by artist facilitators and artists in residence. Come see the work of artists who support artists at Living Studios Gallery, including Bruce Burris, Jill R Baker, Angel Black, Michelle Canon, Jess Felix, Matthew Mahoney, Al McGuire, Paul Meuse, Scott Moss, and Quinlan Wedge.

New Morning Bakery (219 SW 2nd Street) showcases Dreamscapes by Michael Ingram. Odilon Redon's striking and unique paintings at the Guggenheim inspired Michael to pursue a career as a professional artist. He uses acrylic and an ordinary house painter's corner brush on high-grade paper to produce stunning images and vivid colors like those of Redon and Chagall. His paintings are psychic symbols or spontaneous images - “objects of the spirit.” They appear in dreams or spontaneous manifestations.

Pegasus Gallery (312 SW Madison Ave) celebrates its "Annual Art & Poetry Exhibit” for the months of April and May. Kicking off in April to celebrate National Poetry Month, the gallery gathers a creative call and response between writers and image makers. See what may come of communicating an image or idea through words or visual language. It's always different, always a worthy exercise, and always lovely. Come by throughout the two month show, and see and read what the community bravely creates for you. It will tickle your senses!

Plant Posse (221 NW 2nd) presents FLOWER POWER: Sustainable floral sculptures & jewelry. Immerse yourself in an Alice In Wonderland-esque experience among larger-than-life paper flower sculptures at the new Plant Posse storefront, handmade by White Rabbit Blooms! Also featuring Plant Posse's new flower-themed sustainable jewelry. Come meet the creators and explore the storefront's 17+ local artists' plant, produce, fungi and flower-themed artwork.

Focusing on the natural world around us, as well as the fantastical and interesting, each piece is an original work of art. The Arts Center Corrine Woodman Gallery (700 SW Madison Ave) Open 4-7pm presents Potential Spam. The CWG is transformed into a zine reading room, giving the community an opportunity to read over 50 zines collected from around the world.

The Arts Center Main Gallery (700 SW Madison Ave) Open 4-7pm presents Resting My Bones, an exhibition in which Ohio artist Steve Ehret works through intimate struggles with death, separation and fatherhood. The exhibition will feature a custom mural. Ehret will be working on the mural in the gallery at the opening reception, while answering questions about his practice.

Core Gallery: Corvallis Foundry (257 SW Madison Ave Suite 210) hosts Oregon Cityscapes by Logan Bingle. Logan studied landscape architecture in college and has been an urban sketcher since 2013. Over the course of 12 years, Logan has drawn city scenes across the United States with a focus on the Pacific Northwest. This show focuses on cityscapes in Oregon ranging from Portland to Newport. The work aims to showcase and celebrate the wide variety of spaces in which Oregonians live, work, and play.

Living Studios Gallery at Cornerstone Associates (1445 SE Crystal Lake Dr #101) presents Susan Woods: Eye Music. Drawings and arrangements by Susan Woods, with special guest artists in the gallery. Susan Woods’ delicate, wavy lines lead to binary forms, heavily filled spheres like knots, trace a universe in motion, contrary motion, doubling and symmetrical, like eye music.

New Morning Bakery (219 SW 2nd Street) showcases Artists from the Florence Regional Art Alliance (FRAA). This group of artists studies oil painting under John Leasure at FRAA in Florence, OR. Their work features wet-on-went oil on canvas interpretations of landscapes and animals, created both in class and independently. Deb Nechyporenko, based in Corvallis, sells her work and accepts pet portrait commissions at the Salem Market two Saturdays per month April through September. Connie Tholen, originally from Vermont but moved to Oregon as a small child, enjoys painting pieces that bring joy. Susan McCreery has painted with John Leasure since 2017 and finds her happy place by the ocean listening to the waves and seagulls.

Pegasus Gallery (312 SW Madison Ave) features "The Shumway Annual Exhibit" celebrating the art and life Bill Shumway and his creative explorations and personal introspection of his life in Oregon. The Gallery will have three images of his totem animals, wolf and crow, for sale this month to keep his conversations in Arts and community alive.

Valerie is a muralist and portrait artist who will be offering live, on-the-spot realistic portrait art, Rhiannon hand-makes relief prints inspired by the natural (and supernatural!) world, and Rae is a painter who loves bringing contemplation and joy to people through their art. Come support these local artists and enjoy healthy, organic, and gluten-free food and drinks at our cafe! We will also have a collaborative art project you can come contribute to that will be hung up in a gallery afterwards!

The Arts Center (700 SW Madison Ave) Open 4-7pm The Arts Center hosts Threads - Emilee Cha in the Corrine Woodman Gallery. Emily Cha, the 2024 Student Exhibition Award Winner from Oregon State University, explores traditional Hmong textile art, called “Paj Ntaub”, and its symbolic language through present-day exploratory methods.

TAC also hosts the Howland Community Open in the Main Gallery. February CAW will be the last chance to vote for your favorite artwork in the 2025 Howland Community Open. Stop by and cast your ballot! Winners will be announced at the reception, Saturday, February 22, 1 – 2:30 PM.

She enjoys using a variety of media and multiple art forms.  Brynn has a BA in General Art and usually produces work that is whimsical. This show at Art in the Valley is an opportunity for her to celebrate the variety and seasons of her artistic journey as a creative person. Come on by and see what kind of fun, illustrative work she has on display.

From clothing to art prints and housewares, CRV Science uses both traditional media and digital formats to spread a message of environmental conservation and sustainability.

Living Studios Gallery at Cornerstone Associates (1445 SE Crystal Lake Dr #101) hosts Holden Head: A Murky River. Using a combination of wood, resin, paint, joint compound, steel, and cardboard, artist Holden Head reshapes discarded plush toys into something that feels otherworldly. The result is a tangible reflection of decay and rebirth. Holden Head is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sculpture and Expanded Media at Willamette University.
